Two Charged Regarding Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Assault
Formal charges have been brought against two men in connection with a suitcase robbery where a believed to be irritant spray caused injuries at the major London air hub.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two counts of robbery and charges for using a harmful chemical, as confirmed by court officials.
The charges follow an investigation into an assault at the parking structure at Heathrow's Terminal Three on the weekend. Earlier that day, two women were robbed of their suitcases stolen after getting out of a car park lift, police said.
A three-year-old girl was one of the people hurt in the event. A total of five individuals were taken to a medical facility and were later discharged.
This event – which authorities stated was not part of a series and deemed non-terroristic – resulted in disruptions to rail services and the temporary blocking of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area for a short time.
