Trump Calls Relatives of Attacked National Guard Members to the White House

President Donald Trump revealed on Sunday that he has invited the loved ones of a National Guard member fatally shot last week to attend the presidential home.

He mentioned that he conversed with her parents and they were “devastated”.

Details on the Tragic Incident

Specialist Beckstrom, 20, was fatally shot in a attack on Wednesday in DC.

Her fellow service member, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, remains hospitalized in grave state.

Gatherings across West Virginia have taken place in their honor.

Presidential Offer

The commander-in-chief explained he’s proposed a White House visit for the families of both soldiers of the state Guard.

“I said: ‘When you’re able, because that’s a tough thing, come to the White House. We’re going to recognize Sarah,” the president told reporters. “And similarly with Andrew, whether he recovers or not.”

Public Support

Mourners assembled over the past few days at the high school in West Virginia to pay respects to Sarah.

Both the soldiers had been working with the West Virginia National Guard as part of Trump’s federal initiative to support public safety in Washington DC.

Remembering the Soldier

“She was the individual that instructors hoped for. She behaved with quiet strength, a warm expression and a positive energy that inspired those around her,” Jarrod Hankins, the leader of Beckstrom’s former high school, stated to the Associated Press. “She was caring, considerate and always willing to support those in need.”

Service arrangements for Beckstrom are in the process of planning.

Legal Actions and Government Revisions

Law enforcement have indicted a twenty-nine-year-old Afghan national with one count of first-degree murder and two counts of violent assault while armed.

The incident led the administration to halt asylum applications and halt granting visas to owners of travel documents.

Status of Wolfe

The airman, a resident of Martinsburg, started his military career in early 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of Musselman high school, according to the news agency.

He is still undergoing care and is “in a critical fight”, the state’s leader Morrisey mentioned on television.

The state’s top lawyer the attorney general told the program that she also intended to meet with Wolfe’s family.

Legacy of Beckstrom

Sarah, from Summersville, graduated from Webster County High in June 2023 and joined the military shortly after, serving as a MP with distinction, as stated by the state guard.

“She had a lot of kindness and she definitely had fortitude,” Morrisey addressed the audience at the vigil. “Though her life lasted far too short, she has created a legacy that’s going to endure.”
