Comedian and author David Walliams lost his contract with publishing house.
Acclaimed young adult author and comedian David Walliams has been dropped by his longtime publishing house, as confirmed by the firm.
A spokesman for the company said: "Upon deliberation, and following the appointment of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing future works by David Walliams."
It has been reported that the move was reached following an inquiry regarding claims about conduct deemed unsuitable involving women.
The publisher declined to specify the motivations for this action, stating: "We do not comment on internal matters."
An Illustrious Literary Career
Walliams is one of the UK's most prolific writers for young readers, boasting over more than 60 million copies internationally in five dozen languages.
His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins fifteen years ago.
Some of his books, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into TV movies.
He has published over four dozen titles in total, including a Christmas book named *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins last autumn.
A Dual Career
His initial claim to fame came on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He received an OBE several years ago for his services to charity and the arts.
This move occurs subsequent to the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive in October.
