Chiefs Confirm Alleged Abuse Allegations Involving Wide Receiver the Athlete
The NFL franchise released a comment on Wednesday evening indicating they are aware of domestic violence allegations circulated in social media posts by a former girlfriend of wide receiver Rashee Rice and were in communication with the NFL.
The team did not mention the player specifically in their announcement and stated they would have “nothing more to add at this time”.

The woman, who likewise did not name the athlete by name, posted a series of photos on Instagram that seemed to depict signs of physical abuse. She stated the person involved was the parent of her kids, and it is known she has kids with the football player, whom the team selected in the 2023 draft.
Police Reports Reportedly Not on File
No official complaints were available in the Kansas City suburb where the alleged abuse is said to have occurred.
Rice's Recent Off-Field Troubles
Rice missed the initial part of this season due to an NFL suspension for his role in instigating a crash on a Texas roadway that resulted in multiple people injured. Rice was sentenced a month of incarceration and five years’ probation after entering a guilty plea to felony charges.
On the field, Rice concluded the year with 53 catches for 571 yards and five touchdowns as the Chiefs went 6-11 and missed the playoffs for the first time in a ten-year span.
